Although it will provide its customers with state-of-the-art film, gaming and music programming, the heart of the network will be based on the Digital Bridge ‘Community Channels’ that will bring an innovative new range of services into the living rooms of Shoreditch residents. These include: The Community ‘Safe And Sound’ Security Channel. A network of online ‘Community cams’ that residents will be able to view from their own living rooms. In addition there will be Video on Demand clips of the Police Borough Commander and Community Support Officers updating users on local issues, local community crime alerts and dedicated crime prevention advice. The Education Channel. Parents, pupils and mature students will all be able to benefit from e-learning and classroom lessons with ‘Virtual Teachers’, internet homework clubs and online learning coaches. Parents will also be able to monitor their children’s attendance and performance on-line. The Health Channel. Local residents will be able to access Surgery opening times, GP bookings, remote Dr/Nurse consultations, on line health and diagnostic information.
