Europe’s Largest Active Broadband Community Digital Bridge is a high speed network delivering online services to residents and businesses. It will create one of the largest ICT literate broadband communities in Europe, covering 20,000+ residents and 1000+ businesses. Funded through a combination of Central Government funds, European funds, Local Authority funds and Shoreditch Trust resources, partnerships are in place with major providers to roll it out to every household and business in Shoreditch. These partners include Video Networks Ltd, who provide the ‘Homechoice’ service, Hildebrand, Microsoft and ITN. Services will be delivered over a high speed connection, 8mb/s and will be accessed via either a TV set top box or PC. DB will deliver a range of services to residents and businesses that have been identified through extensive market research. These will include a comprehensive digital TV package as well as public service channels. These public service channels will be like interactive digital local newspapers, combining the most attractive elements of a glossy printed magazine with high quality TV features and interactive online capability. ITN will be responsible for the delivery of these channels.
